Decision Day/End of the Year Awards Schedules As a reminder, Thursday and Friday (5/28 and 5/29) consist of a full six period schedule for TCP and Flex students. Flex students should report to the gym in between scheduled classes during the school day. Students may leave for the day at the end of their regularly scheduled classes.Please see the Decision Day Bell Schedule and the Assembly Bell Schedule for the specific bell schedule for each day.
Scholar’s Breakfast Students invited to the Scholars Breakfast should have received an invitation from their period 4 or Mentor Teacher last week. Event specifics can be found on their invitations. Any questions should be directed to Ms. Miranda at mmiranda@amhcs.org.
Final Exam Schedule Finals will begin on Monday, June 1, for seniors with a fifth or sixth period class. Finals will begin on Tuesday, June 2, for ninth through eleventh grade students. Please be sure to review the final exams bell schedule
for the Spring 2026 semester.
Medication Reminder If you have medication or medical supplies on file in the office, they need to be taken home by June 5, or they will be discarded. Thank You.
Student Lockers All lockers must be cleared out by Thursday, June 4. Please leave your locker door open with the lock attached and locked on the outside. Anything left in the lockers after June 4 will be thrown away or donated.
Textbook Returns If you have textbooks in your locker, at home, or in your backpack that you are no longer using in class, come by the Library to check them back in starting on Tuesday, May 26.
Chromebook Returns Students who checked out a Chromebook can drop them off during normal school hours during finals week by Thursday, June 4. Don’t forget to bring the charger!
Uniform Returns If you are an athlete, and still have your uniform, please return it as soon as possible. You will be charged for your uniform if it is not returned!
Lost and Found All items in the lost and found will be donated to a local charity on Monday, June 8. Please check the lost and found for items you may be missing before it's too late.
SENIORS
Graduating Seniors Going to Palomar Fall 2026 Registration for fall classes is available now. To find your registration appointment date and time, log into your MyPalomar student portal and click on the Welcome link located in the Message of the Day. Appointments will be posted on your MyPalomar student portal. Prior to registration, we suggest meeting with a Palomar counselor. You can schedule a meeting here. Tip: Try signing up for a counselor meeting at 8:00 a.m. because slots open up each day. If you will be under 18 by the time the class starts, you will need to have a K-12 form on file with admissions. You don’t need our school to fill out any information, just you and your parent.
Senior Events: Finals: Finals will be Monday, June 1 (Periods 5 & 6), Tuesday, June 2 (Periods 1 & 2), and Wednesday, June 3 (periods 3 & 4).
Graduation Practice: Flex — Tuesday, June 2, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Begin in the theater and then move to the athletic field following lunch. TCP — Wednesday, June 3, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Begin in the theater and then move to the athletic field following lunch.
Graduation: Flex — Thursday, June 4 at 7:00 p.m. TCP — Friday, June 5 at 7:00 p.m.
Grad Night: DATE: 6/7/2025 to 6/8/2025 PART 1: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Graduates will board buses at ECHS on Sunday, June 7, at 9:00 a.m. and be transported up to Disney's Anaheim Resort to enjoy all that the parks have to offer. PART 2: 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. DCA will be transformed into an outdoor graduation festival with music and dancing in almost every corner. PART 3: 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Graduates will be bused back to ECHS on June 8 where the PVO will provide breakfast, much-needed coffee, and gifts. Many teachers will stop by for a last-minute yearbook signing and final farewell!
Important Reminders:
You will get your cap, gown and tassel at grad practice.
Students must complete their Senior Survey (completed in English class or with Mentor Teacher) prior to receiving their cap and gown.
Students are not to decorate their cap.
Students are not to wear a lei or stole other than those issued by the school or military during the ceremony (they are welcome to wear additional ones afterward for pictures).
ACADEMIC & STUDENT SERVICES INFORMATION
Proof of Enrollment in Independent Palomar Courses - Due Last Week Did you enroll in a Palomar class for the fall? You may have received an email from Student Services last week reminding you that you need to show proof of enrollment for certain classes (math, TCP electives, etc.). Please be sure to send a screenshot of your enrollment to mmiranda@amhcs.org. Failure to show proof for these courses may result in you automatically being scheduled in an on-campus class. Stop by the Student Services Center in D-201 if you have any questions.
JUNIORS: SAT/ACT Exam Registration Although the UC and CSU schools will be test blind for admission purposes for the class of 2027, some universities have this exam as an admissions requirement and we suggest sitting for one or both of the exams. We suggest taking your first exam spring/summer of your junior year, and then again in the fall of your senior year. You can take a free full-length SAT practice test on Khan Academy (link) or a free full-length ACT practice test (link). Registration for the exams can be found here (SAT- next test is June 6 with a May 22 registration deadline) and here (ACT- next test is July 11 with a June 5 registration deadline). Reach out to your Academic Advisor if you have any questions.
Free CSUSM Summer Workshop for Grades 9-11 CSUSM is offering free, five-day summer workshops on June 22 to 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for high school students covering financial literacy, entrepreneurship, AI & cybersecurity, and supply chain sustainability. It’s a great way for students to gain hands-on experience, meet industry pros, and explore college life! For more details and to register see this link.
2026 FBI San Diego Teen Academy FBI San Diego is now accepting applications for their 2026 Teen Academy, a free full-day program for rising high school juniors and seniors to get a comprehensive look into today’s FBI. Students will participate in presentations and hands-on activities covering a variety of law enforcement topics such as terrorism, cybercrime, public corruption, polygraph exams, evidence response, SWAT, and the day-to-day operations of a typical FBI office. Students will also hear from special agents, intelligence analysts, language specialists, and professional staff about investigative tactics including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and assisting with cases. Self-Defense Class Are you interested in taking a self-defense class? The class is fun, realistic, and practical self-defense training for women and teens ages 12 years old to adults. Robotics — Mentors Needed Be a Mentor for Team Daedalus (2839)! This is an exciting time for STEM and Career & Technical Education (CTE) in our school, especially with the addition of new computer programming classes to our Classical Education offerings. We are looking ahead to next year with great anticipation as our competitive robotics program, Team 2839 Daedalus, seeks to build on its success and compete at the Southern California District Championships and potentially the World Championships. We are seeking a few passionate and skilled mentors to join our team for the next season. Mentors act as guides, helping students succeed in the annual competition. The students handle all aspects of robot development, including prototyping, designing, manufacturing, assembling, wiring, programming, and testing.
We are looking for expertise in the following areas: Computer Aided Design (CAD), Marketing and Brand Outreach/Grant Development, Computer Programming, Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Fabrication & Assembly (metal and wood) (We can provide training on any specific machinery you don’t know.)
Time Commitment: Fall (Training): Primarily weekday sessions with one or two scrimmage weekends. Spring (Build Season): The main competition season, running from January to April. This typically requires two or three weekdays after school and an eight-hour Saturday schedule. If you are interested in guiding the next generation of engineers and leaders, or know someone who is interested, please contact Mr. Tom Dewey at tdewey@amhcs.org.

Community Service Opportunity Heritage Elementary's ELO-Program is looking for high school volunteers. Volunteers will help students with homework as well as aiding teachers in a variety of classes such as coding, 3d printing, art, dance and more! Cross Country We are so excited for the upcoming 2026 Cross Country Season. Try outs will be held on Thursday, August 6 and Friday, August 7. Interested athletes will be invited to practice once a week over the summer with Coach Class and Coach Catlett. No prior running experience is required; the summer will help prepare you for tryouts. If you are interested, please fill out the interest form. Coach Class and Coach Catlett will send out summer practice and workout information as it gets closer.
